  Total DDT is the total amount of DDT and its breakdown products DDE and DDD. It also refers to both p,p’ and o,p’ forms of each of these chemicals, e.g. ppDDT and opDDT.

That is:

• DDT, dichloro-diphenyl-trichloroethane, the organic pesticide
• DDE, Dichlorodiphenyldichloroethylene, a breakdown product of DDT
• DDD, Dichloro-diphenyl-dichloroethane, a breakdown product of DDT
