Paulo Sérgio Varela Azevedo is a Brazilian researcher born in 1952 in Rio de Janeiro.
A molecular biologist, with a Ph.D. from Oxford University, he is Principal Research Fellow & Associate Professor at Instituto Butantan and Universidade de São Paulo. He is also a well known entrepreneur, having founded one of the most successful and fast growing Brazilian molecular research and design companies.
