Germ-X

Germ-X® is the brand name of a line of antibacterial and antimicrobial products marketed in the United States. Germ-X products include instant hand sanitizer gels, foaming hand soap, and soft wipes. Germ-X products are manufactured by Vi-Jon Laboratories, based in St. Louis, Missouri.

The active ingredient in Germ-X hand sanitizer is ethyl alcohol. The active ingredient in Germ-X hand soap and soft wipes is benzalkonium chloride. The brand's advertising slogan is "Kills 99.99% of germs".

Vi-Jon cites the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) October 20, 2005 Non-Prescription Drugs Advisory Committee Meeting as proof of Germ-X's effectiveness.[1][2]

Scents

There are various scents for Germ-X hand sanitizer, one of which is "lavender & chamomile". It comes in a clear bottle with a purple pump. The sanitizer itself takes on a purple hue.
