Cattle Health Initiative

Cattle Health Project

Defra have funded a number of Farm Health Planning projects, including four bids from the National Animal Disease Information Service (NADIS).

The purpose of these projects is to promote Farm Health PLanning to the wider agricultural industry.

The project involves detailed health planning on 200 farms - 100 Beef farms and 100 dairy farms.

Each involved practice is required to select 10 farms (5 dairy and 5 beef) that are different in terms of type, location and management. To ensure the selected farms are different across the project, a suggested description of farm types is given below.

PLease indicate which farm types you are likely to enrole in the project under the regional heading by editting the page and increase the number in that group for the farm type you have enrolled. As an example I have added a high yielding herd that I will be health plannning with.
