Principle of the FastPrep® Family

Automated sample homogenization is performed with a FastPrep® instrument using specific Lysing matrix tubes. Sample material is disrupted through multidirectional simultaneous beating of specialized Lysing matrix beads. This powerful system ensures lysis of any sample, no matter how tough it is. Two different FastPrep® instruments and several interchangeable adapters allow a unique versatility in sample number, size and temperature conditions.

Subsequent purification steps can be achieved manually with the FastPrep® Kits or automated in the RapiGene-12™ instrument and DNA/RNA purification kits, based on magnetic beads technology.
