New ID Label on Filter Cartridges
All Sartorius Stedim Biotech filter cartridges now have a “black and white” laser imprint on the S-adapter showing plain-text information on the cartridge type, pore size, lot number and the unique filter ID number.

Supplementing this text is a 2-D data matrix code of the same information mentioned above, and a use-before date indicating the cartridge shelf life is also included. This new label tremendously enhances the readability of the lot number, thus practically ruling out the risk of reading errors.

Barcode Scanner for Sartocheck 4 plus
An optional bar code scanner now enables important information to be read into the test unit. What is unique about this feature is that it permits Sartocheck 4 plus to automatically capture all important data directly coded on the label of filter cartridges, whether as conventional 1-dimensional bar codes or 2-dimensional data matrix codes.

As a result, coded information is automatically scanned into the various comment fields. In addition to eliminating operator reading and typing errors, especially of the lot number, this convenient feature significantly reduces the time needed for programming.

Automatic Test Program Selection
Moreover, the barcode is also extremely useful for programming and starting an integrity test. When a data matrix code is scanned in as part of the test startup procedure, the Sartocheck 4 plus automatically selects the suitable test program(s) from the pre-defined program database. As this unit enables up to 250 different test programs to be saved, automatic test selection enhances reliability, saving operators the hassle of reprogramming the unit.
