BlueSens celebrates 15th anniversary

11-Jul-2016 - Germany

BlueSens gas sensor GmbH celebrated its 15th anniversary on the first of July. The company manufactures gas sensors and software for biotechnological processes. In 2001, the two managing directors Udo Schmale and Holger Müller founded the company in the city of Herten in the Ruhr area. Since the time of its founding, the company has greatly developed. "At that time there was just the two of us and we only had two rooms rented," says Dr. Schmale about the starting time. In 2012 the company moved to a larger facility and by now BlueSens has more than 20 permanent employees. This year a new subsidiary has been established in the United States.

The anniversary was held under the motto "sustainable to the future" and was celebrated with business partners, political representatives, friends and family members throughout the day. In the morning, representatives of the communal business development, local politics and delegates from the regional business network have been invited. In small groups, the staff led the numerous visitors through the building to various stations, to present the main products, the latest developments and the production department. Many visitors were surprised by how many work steps are necessary until a sensor finally can be delivered to the customer.

The main topic sustainability ran like a thread through the entire event. Both the managing directors emphasized in their speeches the approach of the resource-saving production but also the subsequent use of the sensors at the customer. "Our customers use the BlueSens´ technology for sustainable research and environmentally friendly production," Holger Müller said in this speech.
