New Chiral Separations Laboratory is operational
30-09-2009: Chiral Technologies Europe announced that its new Chiral Separations Laboratory is now operational. Since 1995 Chiral Technologies Europe (CTE) has offered a contract chiral separation service which utilised HPLC and Simulated Moving Bed (SMB) technology to separate 10 g to 100 kg quantities at our laboratories in Illkirch. From 2006 the company additionally offered to rapidly screen and separate smaller quantities of chiral pharmaceutical molecules. This service utilises HPLC and Super Critical Fluid chromatography to separate mg to multi g samples.
Since 2006 the laboratories have separated an increasing number of samples for Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, Agrochemical and Flavour/Fragrance companies. The combination of a fast free screen, high yield, high specification and low cost has resulted in this approach being the route of preference to obtain initial quantities of both chiral isomers for toxicological and early biological studies. In 2008 thecapacity to separate compounds was nearing exhaustion. Hence Chiral Technologies has designed and commissioned a new laboratory specific to the needs of custom small scale chiral separations.
